Learning From Our Elders

MIRI: Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS) in collaboration with MYY Living Arts will be organizing a basic weaving workshop on February 5th, from 2 p.m to 5 p.m at TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub, Miri.

This workshop is part of the Learning from Our Elders initiative to educate participants in traditional craft techniques like weaving, beading, and basic woodworking. The project’s goal is to encourage discussion, learning, mastery, and invention of Sarawakian handicrafts.

This time, a session on basic weaving will be organised with the support of TEGAS Digital Innovation Hub, Miri. The workshop will be led by Puan Jonita of Jonita Enterprise that will instruct, guide, and discuss the fundamentals of weaving with the participants.

The session is completely free to attend and open to the general public aged 16 and above in Miri. Each of the first 10 registrants will receive a set of 10 weaving tools. Additionally, it will be live streamed on the Facebook pages of Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak and MYY Living Arts.
